Kostas Richter is a Berlin/Athens based audio producer and Bitwig Certified Trainer with over a decade of experience in live performance, studio production and audio education.
Growing up in Athens, he discovered his love for sound while DJing, organizing events throughout the city, and performing as a synth player. His passion for music and technology led him to study Electronic Music Production and Audio Engineering at SAE Athens. In parallel, he gained his first professional experiences in Athens — working as a FOH engineer for concerts and music TV shows, designing sound for short films, producing electronic music, and co-organizing the official Athens Ableton Live User Group.
In 2014, Kostas moved to Berlin to broaden his horizons, while earning a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in Audio Production from SAE Berlin. He continued working as an FOH engineer in venues and theaters across the city, including the Deutsches Theater Berlin. In 2018, he joined Richie Hawtin’s team as Tour Manager, Studio Manager, and Backliner, supporting both international live performances and studio productions. During this period, he became a Bitwig Certified Trainer, further contributing to the artist’s creative vision with technical expertise and precision. Alongside this, he co-owned studio spaces in the Broken Bell and subsequently Riverside Studio complexes in Berlin, where he refined his mixing and mastering skills while collaborating with artists such as Plastikman, Hector Oaks, Chronis, and others.
Through years of international touring and collaboration, Kostas developed a deep understanding of what makes music resonate with live audiences. He has helped artists bring their creative visions to life, shaping the technical side of their performances to make each moment come alive. Since stepping away from intensive touring in 2025, he has focused on studio work and education, offering online tutoring for aspiring producers and consulting on performance setups, touring projects, and studio design.
With a background that blends live performance, studio production, and education, Kostas approaches sound as both a craft and a language — one that connects people across spaces and cultures. His goal is to provide artists with the tools to do the same: to transform sound into experience, emotion, and connection.
